Fernando was born in Pamplona, Spain, on June 3, 1984. He received the Telecommunication Engineering degree and a RF M.Sc. degree from the Public University of Navarre (UPNA), Spain, in 2009 and 2011, respectively. He also received the Ph. D. degree, cum laude, in Communications from UPNA in 2018. The PhD was developed in the framework of a Network Partnering Initiative program of the European Space Agency (ESA). He has performed research stages in Novalti Interspace S.A., Universitat Politècnica de València, and ESTEC-ESA in 2013, 2016, and 2017/2018 respectively. He is author of more than 18 journal papers and 40 international conference papers. He has been also involved in several satellite projects with TESAT Spacecom GmbH, THALES Alenia Space, and ESA. In 2018, he joined the Parts Laboratory Department in Alter Technology TÜV Nord as microwave engineer and in 2019 he joined the Anteral Team as Antennas&Passives CTO where he currently provides his background on this field.
