    Juan Carlos Iriarte Galarregui

    Juan Carlos was born in Pamplona, Navarra, Spain, in 1978. He received the Telecommunication Engineer Degree from Public University of Navarre (UPNA), Pamplona, in 2002 and the PhD. in Telecommunication Engineering in 2008.

    Since July 2001 he is with the Antennas Group at the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department in UPNa, where he was involved in the design of Electromagnetic Band Gap Antennas, while he was doing his Ph. Degree studies. From March 2004 he is Assistant Professor in the UPNa. His Phd Dissertation was awarded with the 1st ISDEFE award in Security and Defence given by the Spanish COIT (Colegio Oficial Ingenieros Telecomunicacion) in 2010. He has been involved in 29 research projects and has 12 publications and more than 55 conference papers.

    His current areas of research are in the field of THz imaging and sensing and, in metamaterials and EBGs for microwave and millimetre wave antenna applications with emphasis on space antenna applications.
