Unai Beaskoetxea Gartzia

R&D ENGINEER

Unai was born in Baiona (France) in 1987, although he was raised in Altsasu (Navarre). He received the B. Sc. / DipHE (2010) and M. Sc. Degree (2013) in Telecommunication Engineering from the Public University of Navarre (UPNA). In 2017 he obtained the Ph. D. degree (cum laude) in Communications, also from UPNA. During his thesis he published 5 articles in international journals, 6 contributions to national conferences, 18 to international conferences and collaborated in the writing of a book chapter for “Aperture Antennas for MM and SUB-MM Wave Applications”. He did two research stays in London (Queen Mary University London, under the supervision of Prof. Yue Gao) and Siena (Università degli Studi di Siena, in the group of Prof. Stefano Maci). He is interested in the field of Antennas, especially Leaky Wave Antennas, metamaterials, and different research fields in the frequency range from microwaves to infrared and aspires to move in between these and the aerospace sector.

He needs music as much as blood to live and spends his free time reading, watching TV series and films and, whenever possible, going into nature.
